Overview

Principal Connections, on behalf of our client a Prestigious Professional Services Firm, has been appointed to search for this key Director post – Data Privacy.

The purpose of this tremendous role will be to lead the advisory team in delivering expert advice and guidance to international blue chip clients on all matters relating to but not limited to the forthcoming EU General Data Protection Regulation. The appointed candidate will also play a crucial role in identifying and evaluating new opportunities for the practice.

Suitably qualified and interested candidates will have at least ten years’ experience of practicing and/or advising large multinational companies on data privacy issues together with the competencies necessary to lead a growing practice. In-depth knowledge of European privacy laws, regulations and best practices are essential.

Remuneration

Six figure salary plus a comprehensive benefits package plus bonus will be on offer to the selected candidate

  • collaborate with management, Legal, IT and other affected departments to develop and continuouslyimprove upon a comprehensive global privacy program consistent with relevant laws and regulationsincluding but not limited to the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation;
  • define, draft and coordinate implementation of policies and processes that enable consistent, effectiveprivacy practices;
  • communicate the company’s policies and procedures to employees and business partners throughtraining and awareness activities;
  • coordinate with senior management, Legal, IT, and other business functions to establish a recognizedand accepted privacy governance structure;
  • advise business units regarding compliance with privacy laws and regulations as well as company policies andprocedures;
  • oversee privacy program risk assessments and resulting mitigation and remediation plans;
  • collaborate with business units to ensure that new privacy requirements are considered and during thedesign phase of new technology and service initiatives;
  • develop and manage procedures for assessing business partners’ privacy commitments and capabilities whileholding them accountable for compliance with the company’s privacy policies and legal requirements;
  • evaluate, enhance and maintain processes and systems utilized for transfers of sensitive
  • information in manners consistent with legal and regulatory requirements;
  • evaluate and improve upon processes for receiving, documenting, investigating and reporting unauthorizedaccess or disclosure of protected information;
  • develop and apply corrective action as needed in response to complaints concerning the organization’s privacypolicies and procedures;
  • prepare and present clear, accurate and timely communication and reports on privacy risks, metrics, andcompliance activities to key stakeholders, senior management and the Boards of Directors;
  • manage maintenance of relevant records to demonstrate compliance with privacy laws and
  • regulations;
  • assist in interactions with supervisory authorities when necessary; and
  • coordinate appropriate auditing and monitoring activities to provide assurance regarding compliance withapplicable laws and regulations.
