Top CEO’s and Business Leaders gather at No. 25 Kildare Street, Dublin 2
On Thursday 13th June, a select group of CEO’s and senior executives gathered at No.25 Kildare Street, Dublin 2. Part of Blacksquare’s CEO and Business Leaders lunch series sponsored by executive search firm Principal Connections, a full house listened to the fascinating insights of Aongus Hegarty, President Europe, Middle East and Africa at Dell Technologies.
Dell Technologies’ Strategy
Dell has long taken a proactive stance on the topic of responsible procurement, sustainability and the circular economy. Mr Hegarty talked in depth about Dell Technologies’ Sustainable Supply Chain. A chain of supply particularly focused on protecting human rights and empowering workers in addition to minimising their footprint.
It was incredible to learn how Dell Technologies has seen first-hand the business and environmental benefits of a circular approach. A win-win, reducing energy demand, costs and environmental footprint at the same time. In fact, Dell’s goal is to achieve zero waste by ensuring that every part of its products can be reused or recycled. And it’s making big strides towards this. For example, more than 90 percent of a Dell laptop is recyclable.
Above-all else however, it was particularly thought-provoking to gain Mr Hegarty’s perspective on the leadership philosophy that is being utilised to realize the ambitious goals set out in Dell’s Sustainability Strategy by 2020.
