HR CHANGE & TRANSFORMATION MANAGER

Principal Connections has been retained to recruit for the key interim post of HR Change & Transformation Manager on behalf of our client, a prominent public sector organisation with offices in Dublin. 

This post will be offered on the basis of a 6 month fixed term contract following which a permanent contract may ensue.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILIES

  • Support the Chief Human Resources Officer and the leadership team in the effective implementation of the agreed organizational development strategy through change planning and management, coaching and facilitation;
  • Contribute to the strategic goals of the business; aligning the people strategy with clear and well-defined change objectives around culture and growth;
  • Effectively address the performance management, succession planning and training & development requirements across the organisation to drive a high-performance culture;
  • Design, collect and analyse HR metrics to develop and deliver well-designed programmes and initiatives to contribute towards the business goals;
  • Manage organisational change ensuring alignment of structures, skills, values and behaviours;
  • Manage project work adapting to changing priorities and demands;
  • Ensure the continuous development of HR systems and processes;
  • Establish strong relationships with third party vendors to enable the development of strategy, models and tactical execution;
  • Act as a brand ambassador and role model for the organisation looking beyond the HR team and act in accordance with overall business strategy to gain maximum return on investment in all areas;
  • Any other projects and duties where they arise (including being proactive in developing new responsibilities).

REQUIREMENTS

  • Immediately available to commence employment;
  • Comprehensive organizational development and design experience;
  • Excellent technical HR change and transformation skills – performance management, learning & development etc.;
  • Excellent presentation skills;
  • Strong evidence accustomed to operating in complex organisations through periods of significant transformation;
  • Preferably a degree and/or professional qualifications in a related discipline;
  • Can prioritise effectively, planning ahead and working in a systematic manner;
  • Experience of working in unionised environments with strong regulation;
  • Requirement for nation-wide travel with some overnight;

SUMMARY

Due to our strategic growth, Principal Connections now seeks to appoint a Practice Leader who will become a key member of our management consulting team. 

The purpose of this tremendous role will be to identify, assess and recruit Management, Executive and Board level talent across a board spectrum of client companies. The Practice Leader will set and execute a winning business and market strategy. As a Practice Leader you will also play a pivotal role in the continued development of the firm through targeted business development and participating in compelling business growth initiatives. 

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Set and execute the business and market strategy;
  • Define, develop and implement best in class executive search strategies;
  • Responsibility for aligning and driving client opportunities;
  • Achieve and exceed agreed performance and revenue targets;
  • Play an instrumental role in conferences, events and other business growth initiatives;
  • Undertake all internal and external system and process reporting activities;
  • Adapt and realign priorities in line with market and industry trends;
  • Ensure the highest possible level of client service delivery;
  • Contribute to a team-based culture and champion a collaborative ethos;
  • Develop and maintain local expert market knowledge and intergrate with global colleagues;

REQUIREMENTS

Experience:

  • Proven track-record of success in an executive search or recruitment environment at an appropriate level of seniority;
  • Solid understanding of the Irish recruitment / executive search market.

Education:

  • Relevant Degree, Masters, MBA or Professional Qualification preferable;

CHIEF EXECUTIVE

Hardware Association Ireland (HAI) is the national representative body for hardware/DIY retailers and builders merchants, as well as manufacturers/distributors to the trade. The HAI represents all levels of the supply chain and includes within its membership ranks national and international companies, multi-branch chains and smaller independent hardware businesses.

 Established in 1938, the organization is in existence 81 years and represents over 400 distributors and suppliers across the industry.  Members enjoy key benefits such as: training and development, HAI’s trade publication, The Hardware Journal, market intelligence, business and HR support, business representation and lobbying, sponsorship and networking opportunities through events and The Hardware Conference.

THE POSITION

Reporting to the President and the Executive Committee, the Chief Executive Officer will be responsible for the effective implementation of the HAI’s policies and strategies and for ensuring compliance.  In addition, the Chief Executive Officer will assist the Executive Committee in devising the organisation’s strategy on an ongoing basis.

The Chief Executive will be accountable for the Corporate Governance of the organisation so that it is accountable and transparent in its dealings with members, stakeholders and local businesses. The Chief Executive will take responsibility for the effective day to day running of the organisation. The role also involves liaison with the President and Executive Committee on governance, the delivery of the strategy and policy development and the achievement of objectives.

The successful candidate will lead the team, ensure quality programmes and events are delivered and grow membership whilst exercising financial prudence and working within the values and ethos of the HAI. External representation is an important element of the role.

REQUIREMENTS

Degree qualified, the successful candidate will be an ambitious and hardworking leader with an accomplished track record in strategic delivery. The appointee will be capable of operating at board level and ideally have a sound knowledge and appreciation of trade associations, professional bodies and public relations as well as the importance of professional development as it pertains to the sector.

The appointee will possess a solid understanding of corporate governance together with, financial acumen, excellent communication and advocacy skills as well as the information technology skills required to fulfil this crucial role. A strong personal ambition for what the HAI can and should be is required.
