SENIOR FACILITIES MANAGER

SUMMARY

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Senior Facilities Manager will be responsible for managing the  business support services including: transport and maintenance, catering, household, portering and reception departments.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Principal responsibilities inherent within this tremendous role will include: Managing divisional day-to-day operational affairs; managing multiple service level agreements; project management; ensuring strict compliance with health & safety and environmental legislation; staff issues and requirements; resource management; on-site security management; proposal submissions and tendering; selection, operation and maintenance of all waste management systems; managing site audits; management reporting; as well as quality and health and safety performance.

The role requires the capacity to identify and improve business processes, policies and procedures, as well as the ability to give experienced direction to deliver on key business objectives. The appointee will be responsible for empowering and developing the inherent experience that exists within the business and operate as a key member of an ambitious Senior Management Team.

REQUIREMENTS

Suitably qualified and interested candidates will be experienced in operating at a divisional or an equivalent level and possess a background in facilities or operations management ideally within a healthcare or engineering environment. In addition, candidates will have a track record in site works combined with expertise in the management of Health & Safety and Environmental legislation. The successful candidate will be a results orientated individual who possesses commercial as well as financial acumen in addition to excellent leadership, organisational, interpersonal, and project management skills.

LABORATORY MANAGER

SUMMARY

Reporting to the Hospital Manager and the Laboratory Director on clinical matters, the Laboratory Manager will lead and manage the pathology department of the Bon Secours Hospital, Glasnevin and will be responsible for the strategic approach to the development of services and structures.  

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

The Laboratory Manager will work with local management colleagues across all departments to support all key functions of the organisation at both an operational and strategic level. Coverage will include but not necessarily be limited to: operations management of the Laboratory Medicine Service, people and performance management, business and workforce planning, policy implementation, continuous learning and organisational development, project and change management, compliance with relevant ISO, JCI and HIQA standards, blood and medical directives, quality control, risk management and financial management of Laboratory services. 

The Laboratory Manager, working in conjunction with the Local Management Team, and other pathology resources across the Bon Secours Health System, will play a key role in shaping, influencing and implementing the future direction of the pathology department. 

REQUIREMENTS

It is expected that applicants will be educated to MSc and BSc level in Biomedical Science or hold a Diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences.  As Laboratory Manager, applicants will have at least seven years’ experience in a medical laboratory since qualifying as a Medical Scientist, along with two years’ spent at a management level.  Applicants will have a broad knowledge of Laboratories and an excellent understanding of the role of Laboratory Manager and Laboratory Clinical Director in the provision of a high quality Laboratory Medicine Service.  Experience within pathology is an essential requirement. In particular, applicants must have solid experience of operations management, people and performance management, business and workforce planning, policy implementation and quality control, risk and financial management in pathology services.  Excellent interpersonal skills, energy, enthusiasm, problem solving capability in addition to the capacity to generate new ideas and manage sensitive situations are key requirements of the role.

HEAD OF COMMUNICATIONS

THE POSITION

Reporting to the Human Resources Director, the Head of Communications will be responsible for the establishment of an internal communications strategy and work closely with the senior management team in it’s delivery.    

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILIES

Suitably qualified and interested candidates will have over five years’ experience operating in a Communications and/or Marketing role.  Educated to Degree level in a related Communications / Marketing discipline.  In addition, candidates will be able to communicate effectively with senior management, have excellent presentation and organisation/prioritisation skills and have a capacity to travel nation-wide on a regular basis.

SENIOR M&E QUANTITY SURVEYOR

THE POSITION

Reporting to the Commercial Lead, the Senior M&E Quantity Surveyor will be a key member of the senior management function with overall responsibility for the strategic and operational activities of the M&E Quantity Surveying functions for various contracts and to ensure the maximum commercial benefit for the company. 

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
