The Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association (IMNDA) is the primary care and support organisation for people living with MND, their families, caregivers, and friends. IMNDA has been responding to the needs of the MND community since its foundation in 1985. Key services include home and professional support, the supply of specialised equipment, and counselling. IMNDA also continues to fund and promote research into the causes and treatments of MND.
Reporting to the Chairperson, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) has responsibility for the overall management, control and operation of IMNDA's affairs in accordance with the organisations strategy, policies and objectives as set out by the voluntary Board of Directors.
The CEO provides the vision, leadership and management of a small but high performing team; represents the charity externally and engages with supporters, partners, statutory and institutional donors and other stakeholders. The CEO is fully committed to the mission of IMNDA to support those with MND.
Suitably qualified and interested candidates will be operating at or near Chief Executive standing with a proven track record of leadership, preferably in a not-for-profit, health, and/or public sector environment.
Core competencies will include: leadership, strategic vision, and organisational awareness, together with the governance, public presentation and advocacy skills required to fulfil this crucial role. A talent for building partnerships and a proven track record of securing income or diversifying funding through other channels would be advantageous. The appointee will have highly developed communication skills and will be capable of engaging and influencing a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
