Overview

Principal Connections has been retained by a leading healthcare company in its field with operations in Ireland and the United Kingdom and worldwide as part of a global plc. Our client has ambitious plans for growth and therefore seeks to appoint for the new senior management functional role of Sales Director which may be domiciled in Ireland or the United Kingdom.

Reporting to the Managing Director, the Sales Director is the Senior Management post with responsibility for the development, implementation and delivery of the company sales strategy. The postholder will lead a large sales team in Ireland and the United Kingdom to successfully deliver on agreed strategic sales goals and commercial business objectives.

The Sales Director will work in close conjunction with the Managing Director and the wider Senior Management team to ensure that resources are directed to consistently and sustainably grow sales and achieve maximum return on investment. The incumbent will also enhance the presence of the company in the UK and Irish markets and ensure professional standards are exceeded. The Sales Director will represent the company within the wider global group context and ensure that local business requirements are appropriately taken in to consideration in global planning.

It is expected that applicants will have significant experience at senior management/director level with responsibility for sales/commercial strategy, team/s leadership and operational budgets. In depth experience of developing and implementing sales and marketing strategies in one or more of the clinical laboratory, biotechnology or medical healthcare markets in Ireland and/or the United Kingdom is essential while relevant third party distributor experience would be an advantage. Core competencies required include: leadership, strategic vision, financial and commercial acumen, team player, communication, resilience, relationship building and results orientation.
